Spencer lake Christian center

HISTORY
Spencer Lake is owned by the churches of the Wisconsin Northern Michigan District of the Assembly of God denomination, The District's first camp meeting was held in 1934 at Camp Byron located in Byron, Wisconsin. In 1944 Spencer Lake’s campus was purchased with its first camp being hosted in the summer of 1946. The 200-acre farm and beautiful 75-acre spring fed lake became known as Spencer Lake Bible Camp. Due to the war, construction materials were hard to come by. An old saw and planeing mill in Hawkins, WI was dismantled and shipped to Spencer Lake to be used to build the original dining hall as well as other buildings. Since then, the campus has welcomed over 1550,000 guests of all ages across the Body of Christ as a place for them to experience times of spiritual renewal, fellowship, recreation, and relaxation. Spencer Lake Bible Camp became “Spencer Lake Christian Center” in the ‘90s as it changed from being only available to churches of the Assembly of God denomination to that of a year-round Christian venue available for all types of events including retreats, camps, conferences, weddings, and reunions. For many, Spencer Lake is like a second home and for untold thousands, it is a place where they encountered God in truly special and life-changing ways.
